What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?

One convention was the obstacles of a family between the two main love interests. The humor aspect mostly comes into play with the absurd setting being lavish mansions. The story was also, driven by misunderstandings. It had a good balance of humor and romance.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked and why?

I liked how the expectations of the family caused the challenges in the relationship. The clever dialogue and acting made for great comedy. The romantic gesture were nice and make the audience feel good.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task and why?

The absurd wealth is good for a high budget film but would be difficult to replicate. Some of the acting could be seen as over the top and corny. A more grounded approach would work better for our film.

Continued The Editing

       Today I continued editing. It is my second day working on editing for the film. The first I did was finish scraping extra takes. It is important that I do this well so the film looks the best. After spending 20 minutes re-watching the recording I think I found all the best takes. Thankfully I did most of this the other day so it was quick. The next part of editing was removing the dead space between clips. Since there were so many clips I was finding it hard to close the gaps in a timely manner. This led me to asking Google for tips. After that I learned that right clicking the dead space removes it instantly. This was much faster than what I was doing before. Finally, all the footage was condensed down to a manageable size. Then, I started cutting parts of the clips. A lot of clips had extra footage at the start and end. I took it all away. Now the film was sitting around 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
