Editing Is Started

     Today I started editing the film. Finally all the footage has been recorded. The first hurdle for my work today was transferring files. First, I had to find a cord that could transfer the files from my phone to the computer. Then I needed to convert the files from MOV to mp3. This was an insane nightmare. The website I used to convert the files didn’t work. It took ages to find a free website file converter. Finally I found one and was able to convert the files. The only issue was my internet was acting up. I spend at least an hour waiting for the files to download. After that whole situation I got the film files into my editing software. The worst part of editing was over. I used Davinci resolve to edit the film. I started getting the scenes on the track. I looked through the multiple recordings and started removing bad takes. This took some time to get done. There were a lot of extra takes to make sure I didn’t have to film too many times. I didn’t fully finish but plan to continue my work later. All in all it was a productive day even if it was boring.

Continued The Editing

       Today I continued editing. It is my second day working on editing for the film. The first I did was finish scraping extra takes. It is important that I do this well so the film looks the best. After spending 20 minutes re-watching the recording I think I found all the best takes. Thankfully I did most of this the other day so it was quick. The next part of editing was removing the dead space between clips. Since there were so many clips I was finding it hard to close the gaps in a timely manner. This led me to asking Google for tips. After that I learned that right clicking the dead space removes it instantly. This was much faster than what I was doing before. Finally, all the footage was condensed down to a manageable size. Then, I started cutting parts of the clips. A lot of clips had extra footage at the start and end. I took it all away. Now the film was sitting around 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
