Getting Costumes and Props

 


    Today is my first day working on the project. There is going to be a long road ahead of me. I just have to take one step everyday and I will be on pace. The first order of business was getting the costumes in order. For Matthew's character I need to make sure we have sunglasses. After some digging in my closet I was able to find some. I did have to clean them up because they were dirty. I cant have the "cool" guy wearing dirty glasses. Then I confirmed that Matthew had swimming trunks for the film. Thankfully he did so I wouldn't have to buy any. Next I went to make sure I had a bikini for my character. After asking my mom for one she pulled through. Now I had all the costumes in order I went to search for props. This was much easier than the costume. One thing I need to find was a water bottle. After looking in the cabinet I found one. Then I asked my sister for a bag. She helped me find one. Finally I got my house keys in order. This meant I had finished my first day of work for Pool Party.

Continued The Editing

       Today I continued editing. It is my second day working on editing for the film. The first I did was finish scraping extra takes. It is important that I do this well so the film looks the best. After spending 20 minutes re-watching the recording I think I found all the best takes. Thankfully I did most of this the other day so it was quick. The next part of editing was removing the dead space between clips. Since there were so many clips I was finding it hard to close the gaps in a timely manner. This led me to asking Google for tips. After that I learned that right clicking the dead space removes it instantly. This was much faster than what I was doing before. Finally, all the footage was condensed down to a manageable size. Then, I started cutting parts of the clips. A lot of clips had extra footage at the start and end. I took it all away. Now the film was sitting around 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
